Different Types of Heating System That Keeps Your Home Warm

Central heating system is required in most places as just air-conditioning is not enough to keep you warm from the chill weather outside. Now, there are different types of Central heating system. Although they are of different type, yet most of them are comprised of radiator, boiler, and pipework. Based on the different types of central heating system, your whole home is heated to keep it warn when the temperature outside remains quite degrees below freezing point. It provides you a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. However, one thing that is necessary for installing any type of central heating system is your safety. It should be safe enough to be used at homes.

Basically, the most common type of central heating system is vented or pumped heating system and sealed systems.

Vented heating systemsystem-layout-unvented

These are the most popular heating systems that are used for heating your home and apartments. It has a feed and an expansion tank that completes the total heating process and keeps your warm. From the tank, hot water is supplied to the pipes that keep the home warm and the radiators too are heated. There is way for water expansion in the tank which is a part of the heating process. For all this the tank is placed at the higher place, especially on the loft.

This type of system is very necessary in houses that are made many years earlier. Although it is not as modern as the sealed system, yet it is very useful for building that has good height and also has structure that is made before years.

Sealed heating system

It is modern system than the vented system and as the name suggests it is sealed system. It is closed and you will not require any tank for operation of its system. As the whole system is sealed there are no pipe works or tanks that are kept on the loft. Several benefits of suing this system are

  • As there are no pipes on the loft, you do not have to worry about freezing pipes there.
  • You will not require doing any maintenance work on the loft as you have to do in case of vented system.
  • The risk of leaking is reduced.
  • The risk of corrosion, airlocks, and sludge is reduced as there is no chance of air drawn back into the system.
  • If required by the mains water supply, it can be flushed out under pressure.

In the sealed central heating system there are required safety devices that make it safer in comparison to other types of central heating system. Here the water required for heating is supplied from the main water supply and hence no tanks are required.

For maintaining the normal pressure variation, there is a pressure vessel that contains compressed gases, which is separated from the sealed system with the help of diaphragm. When there is too much pressure in the sealed central heating system the safety valve present there allows water to get escaped from the system. However, when the pressure drops the valve will open that will refill the system with water.
